Howies contacted me in january 2008 with a new idea for their spring catalogue. They wanted to take the catalogue cover in a new direction to promote they way in which they carried out work for the catalogue. They named the spring edition 'Three Bays'. Clothes were sent to three destinations around the world, instead of teams of people reducing the impact on the environment. There were two separate designs printed, one exclusively for the Howies shop on Carnaby Street and the other was used for mailing. After the design work the cover was litho printed with vegetable inks which created a beautiful layered effect as each layer of ink sat over the other. The cover was then taken and made into vinyl which then was transformed into the shop display on Carnaby Street, London.

For the summer edition of the catalogue I was asked to interpret the phrase 'Life is Complicated, Sport is Simple' which has been an on going spread in the catalogue for some time. I decided to use shoes to illustrate this idea, using the idea the everyone has alot of shoes for day to day simple tasks and most people have one pair of favorite runners to exercise. Also in this edition of the catalogue I made a small illustration to promote the new 'do lectures' season Howies are starting in september to discuss how practicing businesses can reduce there impact on the environment.
