Howies approached me with a brief to decorate their new Bristol shop with wall illustrations. They consisted of three separate images for three different parts of the shop. The first was the 'living off the land' cow which came from an earlier brief to promote a self sustained life style. The second was 'rules is rules always make tea in a tea pot' this is a phrase that howies live by, I know first hand as I have made several pots down at Howies Cardigan. The third and final illustration was behind the till, the phrase given was 'life is complicated, sport is simple'. I used the phrase litrally and created very busy roads with cars and trucks (life is complicated) and in contrast showed a man on a bike in the country side (sport is simple). This project was great I loved working directly onto the walls and to such a tight deadline all three illustrations were created in just two days.
